We're in for a good time, or for time that doesn't leave you behind

That's what we do, how we live, restlessly chasing the single instant of a word,
the sounds, the chords, the tones of a person's voice like waves shattering a fjord,
to forget, to remember, to never lose trace,
hiding in a shadow, longing for the spotlight of a warm embrace
we do silently wait, nor room for despair, for magic to be wonderfully performed, to be cast in the air,
we wait for lights and colours, and golden streaks,
and touches and sights nigh, and words that can't come, far peaks,
and everyday we hope, we weave shiny dreams for us to live,
fabulous cloth and cherished silk and a one minute leave,
but we don't forget, we can't, we dare not,
a love we live that's more precious than gold
its fibers so thin, wonder tied in a knot,
not a thread to escape or to leave, ever so bold.

And your dark and sweet eyes they do cleave every inch of my life
and your careless sight is but my soul's most cruel knife.
Yet I adore, and in shadow I hope,
that words may once come, and confess it all.

Rest assured january is here...

... and cold it has gotten! :-)
Snow is falling in my region, which is pretty uncommon, and temperatures are around 0c, which is uncommon too.
Newspapers write that "Italy is in a refrigerator"... it's too much of a statement, as always, but not entirely false, if you consider that in Lazio(where Rome is), we're used to wear t-shirts for more than 6 months per year: you do understand that cold is not something we are really well prepared to deal with :-)

Anyway, while today is pouring rain, the average day is extremely sunny, bright, beautiful.
So, on sunday, I just had to take the mountain bike and go with a couple of friends to explore the surroundings of Fogliano lake, a national reserve, very near my house.
Being the offroad nutcase that I am (affected by a high, almost incurable degree of LandRoveritis...) I immediately looked for mud, and then for some more mud! :-)
We ended up bicicling in muddy routs usually filled with no less than 30cm of water, and I tell you, it was extremely funny!
This is a picture of me with my friend Gianfranco, when he was still clean... :-)

We had lots and lots of fun, and we explored some beautiful sights in the lake area; at the end, Gianfranco punctured a tire while I believed I had been bitten by a snake, but despite his bad luck and my serious lack of brain, we were extremely happy of the ride, and are planning to make another one very soon.
I know for sure others are reading their bikes already! :-)

Here is a picture of me, Gianfranco and Emanuele, our companion, who was brave enough to explore the mud on a city-like bike... I won't tell you the troubles he underwent and how much damage to the bike he did, but I praise him for the performance! :-)

And, last but not least, a wonderful tree we spotted during our "expedition".
Funny detail, when I crouched to take the picture, I felt a sting, and I though I had been bitten by a snake!
But I courageously kept pedalling... oh my! :)

2005 begun, we're all on the run

Tuesday, such a sweet day to start a week!
One is perfectly relaxed, and ready to go out and get some work done, because the all-time frightening monday has already passed! ;-)

A new year's begun, and this must be a crucial year for development of my life; now, I've been saying this endlessly for the past 5 years, but this time, well, it feels like it can really be.
Graduation is at the horizon, and maybe making a living selling houses :-)

I finally overgone that crazy instinct that wanted me to find a job in the industry, and climb up until a managerial role in some big company; now, that this would never had been the case I should have known since a long time, considering that
1) I'm graduating in philosophy (and in Italy, you can't think of anything farer to bring you in a company!)
2) well, as of today, I'm not really eager to test the "long hours" (read non paied overtime) most companies are willingly and happily infliting their workers (not that I ever heard anything like this before, but I found the EA Spouse story fashinating).

Ah, as always time and words have flown away, and nothing was reached in this post too!
But holidays have ended, great food abuse that comes with them hopefully ended too, so the future for today's bright, let's all just cross our fingers and hope that Inna will be where I'm going, and that she might give me a smile.
That, believe me, would drastically change the entire day!
